Birth Defects Prevention Infographic

The Arizona Birth Defects Monitoring Program (ABDMP) is a statewide, population-based, active surveillance program that collects and analyzes information on children with reportable birth defects diagnosed within the first year of life. Data is collected from hospitals and medical facilities throughout the state on all live-born and still-born children of Arizona residents.

The program also works in the areas of birth defects prevention and services, and to ensure children and families affected by birth defects have access to appropriate services.
