Vaccines for Children (VFC)
Vaccine Storage & Handling 101
The VFC program is a $3.6 Billion federally funded program that provides vaccines at no cost to children who might not otherwise be vaccinated because of inability to pay. Appropriate management of the program and components (i.e. vaccine storage and handling, eligibility screening, etc.) are critical to ensure good stewardship of the program and to ensure our children are being vaccinated effectively. Please use the tools below to help enhance your current procedures within your practice.
- Appropriate Refrigerator/Freezer Equipment
- Guidelines for Storage and Temperature Monitoring of Refrigerated Vaccines
- Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit
