Behavioral Health
Division of Behavioral
Health Services (ADHS/DBHS) serves
as the single state authority to provide coordination, planning,
administration, regulation and monitoring of all facets of the state public
behavioral health system. ADHS/DBHS contracts with community-based
organizations, known as Regional Behavioral Health Authorities (RBHAs), to
administer behavioral health services throughout the State. In light
of Arizona’s rapidly changing demographics, the delivery of behavioral
health services by competent providers to cultural and linguistic racial and
ethnic minority populations has become a priority.

Health Care Needs
Its mission is to continuously improve comprehensive systems of care which
enhance the health, future and quality of life for children with special
health care needs, their families and the communities in which they live.

Chronic Disease
Prevention & Nutrition Services
Its
mission is to empower Arizonans to achieve optimal health through Nutrition
and Disease Prevention and Control Services.

Healthy
Aging
The purpose of the Healthy
Aging Liaison is to serve as an advocate, resource, and communication link
between the Department and other agencies and entities providing direct or
indirect public health services to Arizona’s older adults in communities
across the state. Additionally, the Healthy Aging Liaison serves as an
internal resource to Department staff related to Older Adult issues and
represents the Department on councils, work groups and committees.

Health
Systems Development
Health Systems Development (HSD)
is the Primary Care Office for the state of Arizona. It administers the
Arizona Department of Health Services Primary Care Program and provides a
complementary focus on improving access to primary health care through
workforce recruitment, retention programs and the designation of medically
underserved areas.

Local
Health Liaison
Its mission is to enhance
the delivery of public health services in Arizona through partnering with
local health departments.

Native American Liaison
The
purpose of the Native
American Liaison position is to serve as an advocate, resource, and
communication link between the Department and Arizona’s Native American
health care community. Additionally, the Native American Liaison serves as
an internal resource to Department staff on Native American issues, and
representing the Department on Native American boards and commissions.

Office
of Border Health
Its
mission is to promote and
protect the health of all border area residents through sound, competent
public health practices along the Arizona-Sonora border. The Office also
strengthens cross-border public health collaboration with Sonora, Mexico.

Tobacco
Education and Prevention - Tribal Local Project Contact Information
Local
Projects are the many
community-based organizations and personnel charged with delivering services
relating to tobacco use prevention and cessation and issues surrounding
environmental tobacco smoke.

Women's and Children's
Health
It supports efforts to improve the health of Arizona women and children.
Activities focus on assessment of health status and identification of
health issues, development of partnerships and planning to address
health issues, and provision of "safety net" services.
