Meaningful Use

Public Health Central Cancer Registry Reporting

The Arizona Public Health Cancer Registry will be ready for Meaningful Use Stage 2 for the reporting period starting January 1, 2014.

Background

Cancer reporting is a new objective for Stage 2 Meaningful Use and pertains to eligible providers. The measure is the capability to identify and report cancer cases to a State cancer registry, except where prohibited, and in accordance with applicable law and practice. Successful ongoing submission from Certified Electronic Health Record (EHR) Technology to a cancer registry for the entire EHR reporting period is required. Providers must meet Stage 1 meaningful use criteria before advancing to Stage 2.
