Number of State-Designated Trauma Centers in Arizona

As the Arizona Trauma System continues to grow, the number of designated trauma centers around the state increases. In the last four years, 22 hospitals have met the criteria based on resources and capabilities to become state-designated.

Trauma Centers by Region

There are eight Level I Trauma Centers in Arizona- most of them located in the Phoenix metro area. The increasing numbers of Level III and IV Trauma Centers in the northern, southeastern, and western regions of the state means improved access to appropriate facilities capable of handling traumatic injuries.

Trauma Incidents in 2012

There are eight Level I Trauma Centers in Arizona- most of them located in the Phoenix metro area. The increasing numbers of Level III and IV Trauma Centers in the northern, southeastern, and western regions of the state means improved access to appropriate facilities capable of handling traumatic injuries.
