Number of Motor Vehicle Traffic Trauma Cases per 100,000
Arizona Residents by Region, ASTR 2005-2010

In Arizona, more people live in the Central Region than any other single region, and the Central Region also has the largest number of Occupants injured in Motor Vehicle Traffic-related (MVT) crashes. However, the Central Region has the fewest number of Occupants injured in MVT crashes per 100,000 residents compared to all the other regions. The Western Region had the most Occupants injured in MVT crashes per 100,000 residents. This means that for every 100,000 Arizona residents, 104 in the Central Region would be injured as an occupant of a motor vehicle as opposed to 303 that would be injured as an occupant of a motor vehicle in the Western region.
