News and Updates:

  • NEW! ADHS will be selecting individuals to sit on a stakeholder workgroup to consider how the Hearing Aid Dispensing licensing examination and the related rules and statutes might need to change. Interested parties should email a letter of interest to: Rohno.Geppert@azdhs.gov

  • ADHS has issued Requests for Quotes (RFQ) for Hearing Aid Dispenser Licensing Examiners
  • Hearing Aid Dispenser Licensing Examination
    The next Hearing Aid Dispenser Licensing Examination will be held on August 21, and 22, 2012. Applications for the exam will be accepted from June 20, 2012 through July 31 2012 only. Applications sent before June 20, 2012 or after July 31, 2012 will be sent back to the applicant and the applicant will not be registered to take the examination. Call our office with any questions.
  • Continuing Education Units have changed for Hearing Aid Dispensers (12 units); and Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (10 units). Call our office for further details.

The Division of Licensing Services/Office of Special Licensing oversees the licensing and regulation of Speech and Hearing professionals. The division is guided through the Speech and Hearing Advisory Committee established by Arizona Revised Statute (A.R.S.) Title 36, Chapter 17, Article 1. § 36-1902(A)(1) and (C).

Speech and Hearing Professionals Advisory Committee
The Advisory Committee is composed of the OSL Office Chief, 2 physicians, 2 audiologists, 2 hearing aid dispensers, 2 speech language pathologists, 2 members of the public and 1 member from the Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

At the present time the Advisory Committee is accepting applications for the following vacant or soon-to-be-vacant seats:

  • Member of the Public
  • SLP
  • HAD
  • AUD/DA
  • MD/DO
  • 1 member of the public
